At Simply Safeguarding, we are committed to providing engaging and up to date safeguarding knowledge and consultancy for Providers in the Children's Social Care sector through our tailored and bespoke training programs delivered by a CPD accredited trainer. With a focus on every day operational and practical skills, we will equip your team with the safeguarding and operational knowledge necessary to mitigate risks and improve the outcomes of the children and young people you support or provide services to. The company is owned and ran by Steve Clay, a retired Detective Chief Inspector, Safeguarding Board Manager and Senior Leader in Children's Social Care, with over 45 years experience. We also offer Supervision and mentoring for Nominated Individuals and Registered Service Managers in the Supported Accommodation sector and work to improve current Ofsted inspection ratings.
Supervision and Mentoring
Are you a Nominated Individual or Registered Service Manager in a Supported Accommodation provision?
We offer a structured supervision and mentoring programme, usually either every month or 6 weeks depending upon your needs. We prepare you for Ofsted Inspection or registration, or if you have already achieved both, support you to continue benchmarking your service against the Supported Accommodation Standards 2023.
We look at how your service is running, staff issues, policies and procedures, Regulation 32 submissions, Regulation 27 submissions, Voice of the Child, Leadership and Management overview, LADO referrals and allegations, Compliments and Complaints...all to ensure your service is providing the best outcomes for children.

Key achievements
For any safeguarding practitioner, presenting at the Community Care Conference is always a real biggy. Steve was invited to present on his work on Serious Case Reviews and the publication of a journal "A decade of Serious Case Reviews' at the Community Care Conference at Birmingham.
This last year I delivered 85 training sessions for Providers across Children's Social Care..another busy year
Expert Consultation Services
We are able to offer consultancy services especially around Supervision, Safeguarding audits and compliance across all sectors.
With the new Ofsted registration and regulation of Supported Accommodation we are able to assist with policies, compliance and the Quality of Support review on how the service has operated under Regualtion 32 of The Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023. We are working with some Supported Accommodation Providers to improve their Ofsted inspection outcome and some who are preparing for upcoming Ofsted registration or inspection.
Great value for money
Training your workforce does not need to cost the earth. There are some very expensive packages that simply do not stack up in terms of value. The cost of these sessions are no more than £299. We can train up to 20 staff in a session, a cost of £15 per staff member, and don't forget this is CPD accredited training for those professions who require annual top ups. All sessions come with CPD accreditted certificates and a copy of the presentation for future reference.

And finally...who is your trainer?
There is only one person that will be delivering your training or consultancy and that is Steve. He has a wealth of experience having worked in the Public Protection field either as a Police Officer, Safeguarding Board Manager, Safeguarding Trainer, Compliance Officer and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Most importantly the sessions are based on practical experience. Your staff team want to know what to do, when to do it and how. Steve's extensive experience, knowledge and engaging training will enable them to do just that.
This training will give confidence to your decision making processes, support you in meeting regulatory requirements and most importantly, improving the outcomes for those you are seeking to help and protect.
